Often times when we are experiencing anxiety or depression it can be due to attaching to particular ideals or habits that may not be congruent with our authentic self. It can also come from the attachment to the idea that we need to be certain, in control, and prepared for everything that comes up in life.

Growth comes when we are able to let go of the need to be certain and embrace self-exploration. We may find ourselves suffering silently or blatantly out loud to the stressors that co-exist with us in our day-to-day lives, yet we feel certain that they or our feelings towards them cannot change. And as a result, we do the same…and get the same results.

Individual therapy allows for that unique experience in which one person gains and practices the ability not only to look at themselves, develop skills to handle life’s stressors, but also to build the ability to be vulnerable and trust in another human being.

We will work collaboratively to discover and confront those barriers that are impeding your emotional and mental well-being. I work from a variety schools of thinking, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), in order to help you effectively and efficiently reduce the power of unprocessed trauma and distressing past events.
